Twenty One Pilot’s finished in style

Twenty One Pilots proved once again why they are one of the best performers in the world right now.

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun put in 110% in to their final UK show until Reading Festival in August.

Having heard so many good things about the lads from Columbus, United States, it wasn’t that much of a shock of how good the night was however one thing I surprised with was the energy that the support act put in, Transviolet.

The LA four-piece certainly didn’t look out of place on stage and lead singer Sarah McTaggart complimented the music with her beautiful voice.

With the queues going back miles before even entering the sold out Portsmouth Guildhall, it was certainly worth the wait to see the Transviolet perform their self titled EP.

Sarah even took some time in between shows to speak to fans and sign copies of her EP, something you won’t find that often at venue that big.

With the crowd still buzzing from the act before, it didn’t take that long before the main act appeared on stage with over 2,000 screaming fans ready to share an experience with Twenty One Pilots.

And right from the word go the lads just didn’t disappoint as Tyler famously took the mic and sung Heavy Dirty Soul from their latest album Blurryface.

You could see the lads really got the crowd going with every single fan jumping up and down and singing the lyrics to their well known songs.

Twenty One Pilots will play in Japan in six days time and will continue their tour in Brazil, Chile, Australia, Canada and of course America over the coming months so it was really an honour to see these lads play in Hampshire.

Having played songs from the Blurryface such as Tear in My Heart, Stressed Out and We Don’t Believe What’s On TV , the duo decided to play a mixture of some of their classic songs all jammed together in the space of just over five minutes.

These songs includes The Pantaloon and Addict With a Pen from their self titled first album as well as Semi Automatic and House Of Gold from the 2013 Vessel album.

As just a fan I was exhausted just watching these guys play and on a personal point of view, it was the best live show I have seen.

Tyler also told the crowd during the show that he’d love to come back to Portsmouth one day and perform, something that the sold out crowd would certainly not turn their nose up at.

One of their last songs was of course Car Radio, this particular song was my favourite of the night, the impact it has on people is truly epic and was sung in true Twenty One Pilots style.

As the night came to an end, Tyler and Josh made sure they kept the crowd entertained right to the very last minute allowing them to join in with every single song and almost become a part of the band.

So what’s next for Twenty One Pilots? 2016 will certainly be a massive year for the lads. |-/
